Deep zoom videos — Making Fractal Wallpapers

These are zooms drawn with the deep renderer from Deep zoom rendering. Under each video are its midway and final frames. Each one opens in the fractal explorer, so you can carry on exploring from there.

Double descent

Midway — A deep zoom into the degree-3 Mandelbrot set, rendered with the same perturbation code as the explorer's Deep tab.

Final frame — A deep zoom into the degree-3 Mandelbrot set, rendered with the same perturbation code as the explorer's Deep tab.

Seahorse valley

Midway — A zoom from the whole Mandelbrot set into the seahorse valley. It then descends into a minibrot and repeats the same sequence inside the minibrot's own seahorse valley.

Final frame — A zoom from the whole Mandelbrot set into the seahorse valley. It then descends into a minibrot and repeats the same sequence inside the minibrot's own seahorse valley.

A degree-3 Julia set

Midway — A zoom into a degree-3 Julia set, down to a frame about 10⁻¹⁸ wide.

Final frame — A zoom into a degree-3 Julia set, down to a frame about 10⁻¹⁸ wide.

A degree-3 Mandelbrot set spiral

Midway — A deep zoom into the degree-3 Mandelbrot set, down to a frame about 6 × 10⁻¹³ wide.

Final frame — A deep zoom into the degree-3 Mandelbrot set, down to a frame about 6 × 10⁻¹³ wide.
